Sustainable Economy
Two of our main initiatives:
Sustainable production and trade
Latin America and Caribbean Footprint Initiative
Through the Latin America and Caribbean Footprint Initiative, we create the missing bridge between the region and sustainability initiatives that have an impact in the productive and export sector of the region.
We focus on five interconnected activities: awareness raising, knowledge sharing, capacity building, networking and alliances. We identify untapped potentials for collaboration, unlock new funding opportunities and create a bridge for cross-border knowledge exchange and capacity building on sustainability topics that are of relevance for the Latin America and the Caribbean productive and export sector.
What we do creates stronger relationships between stakeholders in developed countries and the LAC countries; we strive to achieve win / win business opportunities, partnerships and collaborations for all the involved.

Consortia Model with EFI Solutions
Demonstrative farms and Satellite Business Model
A pilot project was established at San Rafael Farm, owned by Agrovet San Ramón, in Patuca, Olancho, Honduras.
The project focused on ecological livestock management and an independent energy system consisting of a small biodigester, solar panels, and a wind energy generator. The farm owners began promoting the replication of the project throughout the region and sharing their expertise with local producers. The project targeted climate change adaptation practices and sustainable production systems.
Over time, the model evolved to incorporate the production of export crops for the international aromatherapy and perfume industries through a partnership with EFI Solutions.
Since 2015, EFI Solutions and CICOMER have developed a collaborative relationship that demonstrates the value of working together. As a result, rural producers have gained opportunities to generate additional income and build more sustainable livelihoods.
